About

Welcome, I’m so glad you’re here.

My name is Cynthia Martin. I’m a therapist deeply committed to helping individuals reclaim their sense of self after experiencing emotional abuse, particularly in relationships marked by narcissistic dynamics. I know how disorienting and painful it can be to feel invisible, gaslit, or constantly questioning your reality.

My work centers on helping you reconnect with your inner voice, rebuild trust in yourself, and create a life grounded in authenticity and empowerment.

My Approach

My approach is warm, trauma-informed, and collaborative. I utilize EMDR for a faster healing response on both emotional and nervous system levels. This method helps you reprocess painful memories in a safe, supported way, so they no longer feel as triggering or defining.

Whether you’re freshly out of a toxic relationship or still untangling the long-term effects of emotional abuse, I provide a safe, nonjudgmental space to process, heal, and grow. Together, we’ll work to restore your sense of peace, clarity, and self-worth — one step at a time.

Credentials & Experience

My background is rooted in providing trauma-informed, compassionate care to individuals facing a wide range of emotional and life challenges. I am trained in EMDR and certified in trauma-informed therapy.

Before starting my private practice, I spent five years working as a Clinical Counselor for an Employee Assistance Program (EAP), where I supported individuals from diverse backgrounds around the world through virtual and telephonic counseling. During this time, I helped clients navigate issues such as anxiety, depression, relationship stress, domestic abuse, job burnout, grief, and suicidal ideation. This experience gave me a deep appreciation for the complexity of human struggle — and the resilience people carry within them.

Prior to my clinical counseling work, I served for several years as a Victim/Witness Advocate within the court system in another state. In that role, I provided emotional support and guidance to crime victims throughout the legal process. It was here that I first witnessed the profound emotional toll trauma can take — and the critical need for advocacy, empathy, and healing spaces for survivors.

These experiences continue to shape my approach as a therapist today. I bring not only clinical training but also a grounded understanding of how trauma, stress, and life transitions impact the whole person — emotionally, psychologically, and physically. I strive to create a space where my clients feel safe, seen, and genuinely supported in their healing journey.
